Recruitment Fraud Awareness
Effective date:
Recognize suspicious recruitment messages and report possible impersonation of Avleno.
Recognize impersonation
Fraudulent recruiters and job advertisements may copy company names, logos or real job descriptions. A familiar logo, social profile or display name does not establish that a message is genuine. Be cautious about urgent offers, hiring without meaningful discussion, unexpected attachments and requests to move immediately to an unfamiliar messaging service.
Protect your information and money
Treat requests to pay for access to a job, send cryptocurrency or gift cards, deposit a check and forward funds, or buy equipment from a specified seller as warning signs. Do not provide passwords, one-time codes, bank details or identity documents to an unverified contact. This guidance is not a statement that a particular message or recruiter has been verified.
Verify independently
Check the full sender address and destination URL, not just the name displayed. Independently navigate to Avleno’s website and use its published contact details to ask whether a recruiter, listing or communication is genuine. A matching-looking domain can still be misleading, and an email address alone is not proof of authenticity.
Report a suspicious communication
Use Avleno’s Contact page or the email below with the subject Recruitment fraud concern. Provide the sender address, claimed role, date and a description of the request; redact identity, financial and account information. Do not forward potentially harmful attachments. This is a contact pathway, not a guarantee of investigation or a response deadline.
If you have disclosed account or financial information, contact the relevant bank or service promptly. Consider reporting suspected fraud to the appropriate authorities in your jurisdiction. Do not continue sending information while independently checking the communication.
